Comment: Hi all, guest book nice touch sue. fished the becks on the 21st jan took 2 low doubles last knockings on pepperami. to all new comers, manor is well worth visiting if carp are your quarry, mutiple catches can be caught at the right time of year on both the becks and carp lake, most good baits will work but little tip try andy and matts baits that can be purchased on site i bet they have lost count of the kilos they have put in.closing note to sue 3lb fish in carp lake time for the net to come out.

Comment: Started fishing again in nov 06 after a break of 9 years. my mate said about Blunham lake and on my 2nd visit after airing my tackle out after years of storage I caught a 15lb 4oz mirror on a 20 year old 14'normark match rod and 2lb hooklength as I was only antisipating small carp and silverfish, also caught commons 8lb4oz, 7lb9oz, 2 at 4lb8oz, 4lb, 3lb7oz and 3lb5oz all in all an excelent day and has definatly got me hooked on fishing again, Excellent complex will be returning again and again.

Comment: just finished a 48 hour session in which the 2 people i was fishing was beat their personal best. a 33lb fully scaled mirror caught on monster crab boiles. a 26lb 14 oz mirror was caught on whit toffee pop ups and a 25 lb common was also caught on toffee pop ups.

Comment: fished winter lake at weekend, nice lake, bit open at the moment but as soon as trees mature its going to look fantastic. Didnt catch anything, but due to the carp spawning didnt mind. Only one bad thing, the amount of birds with their 20/20 vision. i dont think there was one time that i cast out that they didnt dive down and have a good go at my baits. apart from that, looking forward to going back

Comment: Fished the carp lake for the first time on sunday 3rd June 07, Very warm bright day, fish very visably basking but not taking baits, caught my PB 14lb 8oz on strawberry pop up topped with a grain of sweetcorn. Lovely lake and surroundings will certainly return again.

Comment: this place is great i caught my first ever carp (mirror weighing 16 and a half pounds) and my first ever bream weighing 6 pound.

Comment: I called in yesterday to check out Manor Farm. I took my coarse fishing gear along 'just in case' I fancied wetting a line, as well as some fly-fishing gear. I did have a go with a feeder rod, and had a great time on Damsel lake. I caught 5 rainbows, two will be dinner on friday, and a handful of common and mirror carp - the biggest was only 5lbs, but they were all in good condition. I'll be back to fish the other lakes soon.

Comment: I went flyfishing for the first time on Sunday. I had a 1lb 8oz trout after just a hour of so. Tasted great! I look forward to comming again soon!

Comment: the fisherie is developing great but one thing i have noticed is that some of the reeds have been cut back and has affecting a bit of the fishing such as the carp lake i used to catch baby carp but all have gone out to the middle and all i catch is perch! still the perch are immaculate and a great size i will come back again.

Comment: I know i only posted a week ago, but went back to Blunham yesterday (31/08/07) and had a fantastic day, it was the first time i have been carp fishing (hair rigs, baitrunners, bite alarms ect)I normally just throw a float out, I caught 3 mirror and 1 common 2-5 lbs, i also had 5 good scraps but failed to land, and loads and loads of bites. Cant wait to come back

Comment: superb 48hr session ( 30th,31st of August ) on Becks lake, total of 20 plus fish for a total of 210lb+ inc: 1 x18lb & 1 x 25lbers. this is the second time this lake has produced this weight this season.

Comment: Ive just got back into fishing, i went to Blunham lake on 11th & 13th Sept, i fished a feeder, plus breadflake very shallow in the margins. I caught in total 5 Mirrors and 18 Commons weighing between 4lb - 12lb, of which was the largest, on top of this lots of roach, bream & perch. Absolutely great sport on old rod and 5lb line...brilliant, can't wait to come back. Everybody helpful, baitshop is great. Only 1 bad thing, i was plagued with lots of rats. Best fishin i ever had! 

Thanks for the comments. Yes we are aware of the rats, they are dealt with on a regular basis, but unfortunately they will not take normal rat bait. We have to use boilies, meat and other fishing baits treated with poison in order for it to be effective. They are obviously very well fed on the scraps and bait left by the anglers!

Comment: Fished carp lake on 19th september not my first time at manor think its a great place had 5 fish the biggest weighed 18lb the smallest just about a pound PLEASE can you do something about these small fish because its turning a great lake bad cant see many people coming back if they keep getting taken out by small fish wouldnt be so much of a problem if ther was less weed i no what i would prefer to see the weed not the small fish.

Thanks for the comments. The small fish are due to our carp being "so happy" that they are breeding annually. If they were not there I would be worried about the condition of the lake. Every winter we net the lake to remove as many as possible, however they say you only ever get one third of the fish when netting. The large ghost koi, now upto 19lbs, have bred in the lake and grown on themselves. Would suggest that you use larger baits next time such as 20mm boilies. Ask in the Tackle Barn for best baits when you next visit.

Comment: Had hectic friday night on Becks. First time there and had it off big style. Had twenty carp from point of island on 24hr session. We had 48 carp between four of us. Cracking looking water, excellent tackle shop. We will be back.

Comment: Just spent a 24 hour session on the carp lake, only 2 fish but both PB's a common of 20lb 4oz followed by 24lb 4oz 20 minutes later. My nephew caught 3 commons between 11lb 7oz and 19lb 6oz. all on zigs

Comment: fished damsel lake on sunday. to start with i just went to peg 1. i could see some trout swimming right at the waters edge within a few minets i had my first trout. in total i caght 9 trout in 4 hours aND HAD ABOUT 3 TIMES AS MANY STRIKES AND LOST 1 i also had a strike from quite a big fish that pulled my rod tip into the water. the bigest for the day was about 2 pounds 12oz. the flies that were sucessful for me were catswisker,montana,bloodworm and a gold head damsel. good lake will visit agen

Comment: Joined as a midweek season holder in January after a slow start on Becks I eventually caught an 18lb & a 12lb Common on waggler using maggot and casters in 6ft of water 2 rod lengths out.(no touches on feeder).Tried Blunham last week and yesterday catching 16 & 21 carp ranging from 2lb to 12lb on method and pellets (two exhausting days)Brilliant sport Just need to try the Carp Lake & Winters. A question, under my Midweek daytime Season ticket what hours can I fish and can I fish Winters lake?

Comment: I fished becks lakee last week, only went down for couple of hours/dusk, was fishing for silverfish but alas nothing showed so using the same gear (match rod, 4.5lb line, small float) i desided to move swim to a fish close to the reeds. well i had two lovely fish, one common at 10lb and a nice mirror at 12lb. So lads stick with light tackle until weather warms up as it seems to do the trick.

Comment: Fished the Blunham for the first time a couple of weeks ago,introducing my two lads 6/7 to the sport. Caught over 80 fish up to 1lb on two whips and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

Comment: Excellent fishery, i fished the Match Canal on Friday 15th August, after a slow start ended up with 70lb of Carp, Tench & Bream, I fished for just over 5 hours, my biggest weight from the fishery this year, I shall return to try & go one better.
