Week Ending 28 June:

With the nice weather around at the moment the carp are all cruising about sunbathing! There have been quite a few being caught of the surface on some of the lakes. Also zig rigs are working out there. The bigger fish seem to be feeding when the suns not out at night and early morning and evening.

Specimen carp lakes

Winters Lake- With this being the hardest lake on site its been difficult up there as they are very wary of surface feeding. It has been known to see the carp just cruise right past your hookbait. There has been a few out in the margins and at night upto 24lb on squid boilies and home-made boilies. We also have specimen Rudd up there which are nearly at the British record the last one to come out weighed 4lb 6oz which isn't far off the record now and there could be bigger ones in there.

Carp Lake- Has been fishing very well mainly in early evening darkness when the suns not to bright. There have been fish caught all over the lake on many different tactics and bait. Daniel Hare landed a 33lb common on a overnighter on sweetcorn. At the weekend two anglers landed nine carp upto 25lb on Halibut boilies and pop-ups. A 20lb common and 14lb mirror were caught on pepperami. Its best to find a good spot with your marker rod of your not fishing the island and also put one in the margins.

Carp and Coarse Lakes-

Becks Lake- This is the best lake if you want a specimen carp off the top as they are not as wary in this lake as they are in the carp or winters lake. Also the island and margins are still producing very well on this runs lake. There has been a lot of carp coming out off the top mainly on dog biscuits and other styles of floating pellets. One angler had 14 carp overnight upto 18lb on source boilies in the margins. Also there have been some lovely roach upto 2lb coming out lately on a variety of baits which include a 15mm source boilie! The over 60's fished a match on there this week and they all caught some lovely bags of roach the biggest weight was just over 30lb!.

Blunham Lake- This lake is still producing some lovely fish with carp coming out on top, on a method feeder and in the margins on a variety of baits which include sweetcorn, halibut pellets, bread and luncheon meat. Bream and tench are also coming out on sweetcorn and pellets. Also the roach and perch are coming out on maggots. It is best to fish this lake in the margins in the mornings and evenings.

Damsel Lake- This lake again does well for surface fishing on a hot sunny day. The margins are producing well for the carp, roach and perch. Carp upto 18lb have been coming this week all over the lake on many different baits which include spicy shrimp boilies, maize, sweetcorn, luncheon meat and pepperami. The Bream have also been coming out a lot lately mainly on pellets and sweetcorn. On sunday 27 June we held a Ladies Day charity event on this lake it was a very hot day but I think al the ladies enjoyed themselves. Seven fished in total and the results are 1st Abbi Kendall with 44lb, 2nd Abigail Brewster with 8lb 3oz, and joint 3rd with 5lb 6oz each was Caroline Hearth and Sue Worboys.

The Canal- The Canal is still as it has been all year fishing very well with some nice bags being landed on matches and general coarse fishing up there. There have been carp upto 11lb out and bream upto 6lb out this week mainly on pellets, paste and sweetcorn. Margins  are still producing aswell as middle of the lake. Open Match results held on the Canal on 26 June. 1st Mark Harvey (peg 13) 79lb 11oz, 2nd Rob Heath (peg 9) 61lb and 3rd Lee Woodhouse (peg 5) 60lb 10oz. The golden peg money is still up for grabs and getting bigger as the weeks go on.

were up there a few weeks ago  and they had ten carp upto 28lb on innovate bait boilies.

tench. Many Roach and Perch have been caught all over the lake on maggots.

At last we have made the move to our huge new tackle shop with numerous bivvies, shelters, bedchairs, chairs, luggage and much more all out on display, all at excellent prices. In the meantime the fishing has been continuing unabated, with some fantastic catches across numerous lakes.
