TUITION & ROD HIRE

Henry Lowe, our APGAI and STANIC (email Henry) qualified fly fishing instructor, runs small courses once a month at Manor Farm. Groups usually consist of between 3 and 5 anglers, and vary from complete novices to the more experienced angler. Since the groups are only small, Henry is able to tailor the instruction to suit all standards. One-to-one instruction can be arranged by contacting the fishery.

All courses run from 9am to 4pm and include tuition in the morning followed by guided fishing in the afternoon

Price: £45.00 per person (£40.00 per Junior) and includes all instruction, equipment, licences and a one fish limit.

Please bring hat, glasses, suitable footwear and clothing and your lunch.

Places are limited to 5 anglers per session. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

JUNIOR SALMON & TROUT ASSOCIATION INSTRUCTION

Over the last few years the fishery has been working in conjunction with the Salmon & Trout Association and the Sports Council to offer one day fly fishing courses during the school holidays. These have proved to be extremely popular and are booked up rapidly. Our dates for the 2005 season are detailed below.

Who Is Doing The Teaching?

The instructors are all STANIC qualified fly fishing instructors

Who Can Join Us?

Boys and girls aged 10 to 16 years, whether new comers to the sport or more experienced anglers. All must have written consent from their parent or guardian.

What Will Be Taught?

  • Learning about tackle and its safe use.
  • Receiving casting lessons for beginners and the more advanced.
  • Learning about the insects the fish feed on.
  • Learning fishing knots.
  • Studying the life cycle of fish.
  • Actual fishing with a fly for trout
  • Learning how to hook, land and dispose of a fish correctly.

Where and When?

Meet at Manor Farm fishery barn at 9.30am. The day will finish at about 4.00pm

What Must You Bring?

  • Glasses or sunglasses to protect your eyes from the hook when fishing.
  • A hat to protect your head when fishing
  • Suitable clothing for the day, such as waterproofs, wellies and plenty of layers.
  • Food and drink for lunchtime.

How To Reserve A Place:
